Synspective Inc., a provider of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data and analytics solutions, announced it has signed a radar satellite data framework agreement with Airbus Defence and Space. This partnership marks a significant milestone in European-Japanese space cooperation, integrating Synspective’s high-frequency SAR data into Airbus’s Earth observation portfolio.
Under this agreement, Airbus will gain access to satellite capacity from Synspective’s expanding StriX constellation, complementing Airbus’s existing radar assets (TerraSAR-X, TanDEM-X, and PAZ) with enhanced revisit times and expanded coverage. Synspective’s inclined orbits significantly improve monitoring of equatorial regions, which are critical for maritime security, natural resource management, and global logistics.
Key Highlights of the Partnership:
– Enhanced Resolution and Coverage: Airbus customers will have access to Synspective’s high-resolution SAR data (up to 25 cm) in familiar acquisition modes, including Staring Spotlight and Stripmap.
– Reliable Monitoring: By leveraging SAR technology, which penetrates clouds, smoke, and darkness, the partnership will provide critical data for security and disaster management regardless of weather conditions.
– Frequent Revisit Times: With Synspective aiming to build a constellation of more than 30 satellites from 2028 onward, the partnership ensures a frequent and resilient stream of data for dynamic monitoring and information superiority.
– Joint Innovation: Beyond data supply, Synspective and Airbus will explore joint solutions and capability development to meet the evolving needs of customers across Europe and the global market.
